TYPOGRAPHY RESOURCE & CREDIT POST
One of the most important things I’ve learned from researching typography during my digital art class is this: font design is hard as balls, and if any of those designers saw the way I’ve superimposed their hard work across Batman’s face in a less-than-skilled-manner, they would probably cry. The links in this post should cover all the fonts I’ve used in past graphics and any future graphics.
Just a friendly reminder: graphics are like evolution—sometimes you throw a bunch of cool shit together and get something awesome like a platypus, and other times you get an ugly slimy blind undersea creature that eats poop. Using a good font doesn’t necessarily mean you will get a platypus.
Photoset Fonts:
I. Just—My—Type (Soraya)
II. Lost Type (Oil Can, Tommaso, Ranger, Wisdom Script, Muncie, Pompadour, Deming)
III. The League of Moveable Type (Ostrich Sans, Blackout)

I would also recommend checking my design tag on Delicious for any new fonts I may find in the future.
Because some of you anons are persistently asking what fonts I like to use in my works, I’ve kindly compiled them for you. I’m pretty sure there are other people who have compiled their favorite fonts, so my set might be repeats. Reblog/like and enjoy! [More to add in the future]

Don’t worry! The first few times you use your tablet, you’ll have to get used to it since it’s a little different from drawing on paper. But keep practicing! There’s really no trick to learning quickly except for constant use. :)
Though, there are a few ways to make your lines a little smoother in general. When drawing, zoom into your drawing 300%-800% depending on your screen. I find drawing this way will help control your lines better. Drawing at 100% always (and still) makes lines wobbly.
Also try drawing in swift motions! Though, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to draw fast, but do your best to make quick strokes for curves and stuff. I like having my right hand on CTRL+Z when drawing curves so I can redo the curve as many times as I can.
I think that’s all I can think of for now. Keep at it and don’t get discouraged — Practice makes perfect! ( *w* )/
Okay well, I use the brush for my line art. But the colors of the hood are with the marker tool, here are the settings:

I use the marker pretty much all the time

It tends to react a bit differently based on tablets but those are my settings.
I dunno, is there anything specific?
I draw zoomed out to avoid messing up proportions and zoom for details once the proportions are okay.
Keep it loose, dont try to be perfect it’s easy to fix mistakes
i always have one finger over the ‘e’ key. In sai if you keep it held down while you use it, when you lift your hand it goes back to what you had been using.
I dunno~ if you think of anything lemme know
And thank youuuu ♥
My favorite stock artists on deviantArt, for my own reference, but also in case anyone wants some pretty sweet stock images (though most of these people are fairly well-known).
- ahrum-stock has the most insane poses. Seriously HQ dude.
- mjranum-stock has an incredible range of poses, costumes, models, lighting, and angles. Also verrryyyy HQ.
- senshistock has so many stock photos available it blows my mind. Not many different setups, but she always has unique poses and props.
- fairiegoodmother I just think the female model is really pretty.
- yellow-stock more pretty ladies, I’m sensing a pattern.
- felixdeon this dude has some of the weirdest gay fetish stock ever (that’s not true) but he also has an extensive gallery of male nude stock photos which is pretty hard to come by (heh heh come by).
Probably will add to this later as I rediscover photos. Enjoy if anyone is so inclined.
